These terms govern your use of the lodat.co.uk website. They do not cover paid engagements with Lodat. Each piece of paid work is governed by its own written quote and engagement letter.
Who we are
Lodat is a software and IT services provider based in Mansfield, United Kingdom. References to "we", "us" and "our" mean Lodat. References to "you" mean the visitor or user of this website.
Use of the website
You may browse this website for personal and business information purposes free of charge. You agree not to misuse it, for example by attempting unauthorised access, automated scraping at unreasonable rates, or submitting deliberately false information through the contact form.
Information on the website
We try to keep the content on this website accurate and up to date, but it is provided for general information only. Pricing bands listed on the services page are guides, not binding offers. Any work we agree to undertake will be set out in a separate written quote with specific scope, price, payment terms and timeline.
Engagements with Lodat
Where we agree to perform paid work for you, the legally binding terms are those set out in the written quote and engagement letter we send you. Those documents take precedence over anything implied or stated on this website.
Default principles for our engagements (subject always to the specific terms of each quote):
- Fixed prices for fixed scope. If the scope changes, the price changes. We will tell you in writing before doing chargeable work.
- Payment. One-off work is typically invoiced on a 50% deposit, 50% on delivery basis. Retainers are billed monthly in advance by direct debit.
- Intellectual property. On full payment, you own the bespoke deliverables we produce specifically for you (custom code, custom designs, custom dashboards). We retain ownership of any pre-existing tooling, libraries or components we incorporate, and grant you a perpetual licence to use them as part of your deliverable.
- Confidentiality. We treat information you share with us as confidential and only disclose it where necessary to perform the engagement or where required by law.
- Liability. Our liability for any single engagement is capped at the fees paid for that engagement. We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.

This website links to third-party websites (for example venueos.lodat.co.uk and pages on resend.com, github.com and others). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
Intellectual property in the website
The Lodat name, the visual design of this website and the text on it are owned by Lodat. You are welcome to share short excerpts with attribution. Please do not copy substantial sections of the site or republish them as your own.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
